We're all on a mission to accomplish something.
It keeps life exciting.
Personally, there's not much I enjoy more than planning the next big thing. I find it motivating to wake up each morning and going about my day in a way which will bring me closer to my goals.
The closer I get, the more exciting it is.
The only downside to constantly pursuing something is that it can very often distract us from being grateful for the things we already have in our lives: our health, our family, our friends, the roof over our head.
There's a great little activity to remind us of what we're grateful for on the way to where we're headed.
Here's how it works:
When you wake up, make your coffee and sit down in a quiet place. As you drink, spend five or ten minutes going over everything in your life you're so grateful to have. It doesn't matter how big or small. You'll soon realise that when you're grateful for what you have, it takes the stress off you to race to where you're going.
I'm not saying to stop chasing the things you're striving for.
Just that you should celebrate how far you've already come.
